It’s sad to visit this space these days. All off-the-shelf WordPress template with no customization. No links to six years of archives. X10 switches almost completely removed from the house, and no way for people to flicker my lights any more. No ill-informed and poorly thought out political opinions.
This space is a shadow of its former self, but my attention is elsewhere these days. How’s everybody doing out there?
we still love you, Ryan.
But I miss the light switch thing.
As we grow older (yes, you are now officially old since you’re 30+) time seems to pass by quicker as our lives get busier and filled with multiple activities. Your attention has, understandably, been diverted from maintaining Gimpysoft.com to maintaining a relationship – both which you find fulfilling. As your work experience grows, so do your work responsibilities leaving less time for internet surfing, etc. I admit the past year and a half for me has really left me out of the loop on things, since I returned to school and my family grows. I am glad the semester is over and only 3 more courses remain (to be finished by 8/2007). Chloe will turn 4 years old next month and is addicted to pbskids.org. She’s proficient with the mouse and loves to draw, color, cut paper, and be crafty. Aubrie will be 4 months old already Friday, and we once again are very fortunate to have a healthy, happy baby. She is much bigger than Chloe was at this age, and we just love her chubby legs, arms, and cheeks. She smiles a lot, works with her hands more, and tries moving her mouth with sound. I’ll have to say this second time around has been extremely rewarding since our approach has been much more relaxed. We’re taking off for the gulf coast next Friday to return to Texas on 1/2. Obviously we can’t be traveling while the Razorbacks play on 1/1 !!. Hope your Wisconsin relatives don’t expect to win the Capital One Bowl :-) We’re thinking that next year we might begin the tradition of spending Christmas at our own home instead of our parents’ homes…
I’m still here!
Yeah, I know how it goes. I gave up hosting my own site a while ago. Not even sure if the server is on now or not. As for growing old, I guess it’s not that bad when you have little ones running around to keep you insane. I haven’t got to that point myself, actually I’m only about to get married, though that’s still a few months away.
