Vote Early, Vote Often...

It's election day in Iraq.

Voters will go to election booths, then using non-secret ballots will be given the choice to vote "Yes" or "No" to Saddam. Iraqi leaders seem to actually think that this election is going to be taken seriously by somebody.

Or as Kazem put it, the outcome "will be like a fork in the eyes of [President] Bush."

I can't imagine anybody taking the results of this election seriously, but Steven Den Beste seems to think that somebody will. I guess I just have a bit more faith in humanity than that. Silly me. I'll be keeping my eye on Indymedia, though... If anybody will try to use this sham as evidence that the people of Iraq actually love Saddam, it'll be those guys.

And if you don't believe that the case for war in Iraq has yet been made, I now have the clincher:

His campaign song, Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," has been getting lots of airtime.

If that's not a crime against humanity, I don't know what is.
